We're in search of a Data Engineer to join a leading computer consultancy in Madrid.
As a Data Engineer, you'll be focused on designing, building, and optimizing their data ecosystem. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the delivery of high-quality and trustworthy data.
Main responsibilities include:
- Pipeline Development: Lead the creation and optimization of data pipelines supporting analytics, data science, and machine learning applications.
- Data Modeling: Architect scalable data models to accommodate growing datasets and complex business needs.
- Data Platform Construction: Develop a robust data platform tailored for data storage, management, and large-scale processing. This includes managing scheduling components and building essential libraries.
- Data Governance Collaboration: Work closely with the global data governance team to ensure full compliance with data privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
- Standardization & Collaboration: Collaborate with Engineering counterparts to craft a standardized data library, catalog, and instrumentation, promoting consistency across the organization.
- Performance Optimization: Drive continuous enhancements in system reliability, performance, scalability, and overall data quality. Own and monitor relevant KPIs.
- Code Excellence: Develop state-of-the-art code and play an instrumental role in shaping the software development culture within the team. Establish and advocate for best practices in software engineering, particularly in instrumentation.
- Knowledge Sharing: Stay at the forefront of Big Data technology evolution and ensure this knowledge is disseminated across the organization. Promote best practices and established standards.
What do we value?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Previous work experience in data engineering roles, software development, or related fields. Azure Databricks experience is required.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data architectures.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with Big Data tools and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
- Knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases, as well as query languages like SQL.
- Ability to design and build robust and efficient data pipelines.
- Experience in building data platforms for storage, management, and large-scale processing.
- Familiarity with data modeling techniques and database schema design.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
